Anyone interested in a steady ride next Sunday (25th), give me a shout. Might even stop for a cuppa. Thaymar run is an option. For those who were on yesterday's Epworth run, i'll be doing the same, just further.

Last week I made two trips to local bike shops and was really pleased with the level of service I recieved from both. Firstly, to Race Scene in Barnsley, where Freddie did an excellent job of staightening my rear wheel. After making a phone call the same day, he did it while I waited. I also stocked up on sports drink. Then, with the recent drop in temperature I thought it was a good idea to invest in some new thick winter tights. With my last pair of Assos tights lasting a good 6 winters I decided to treat myself to another pair. After scanning the internet I remembered that Dave Marsh at Universal Cycles in Maltby was a stockest of Assos clothing. Dave had got the size and colour I wanted and as I was verry happy with the price, so, I was fixed up the same day. I'd reccomend both shops to anyone.

Deserves another as far as I'm concerned! After riding the Thursday night chaingang last week for the first time in a few years and enjoying it, I decided to ride it again this week. Danny had the misforune of having a certain rider repeatedly jump through and take quite a few bike lenghths out of him. I can only assume he had a grudge against Danny because he didn't do it to any other rider that night. So, I decided to do what any good team mate would do, and returned the favour to the rider, putting Danny through more difficulty in the process...we both agreed it was worth it though...how we laughed! Well what can I say about tonight's ride? After the spouting I did in last months news tonight's action only went to further make me eat my words. A large group of around a dozen riders met up at Hatfield Woodhouse and by Blaxton that number had grown to around the twenty mark. The pace was fairly quick but also quite smooth. In light of the even tempo most of the bunch were able to tap through right up to Ranskill which further aided the quality of the experience. All in all the chain gang section was a great way to spend an evening. Unfortunately it wasn't fun all the way as Martin Debnam was involved in a crash on the way back through Doncaster. Despite suffering a very nasty cut to his elbow and destroying his ergo lever Martin was able to get back on his bike. He'll obviously be sore in the morning but I hope he makes a speedy recovery. After a few weeks of inactivity we've got round to updating the news page on our main site www.whiteknightrc.com/news.html. We've had a quiet time of it just lately on the racing front and preparations for our road race have been taking up our thoughts. On the subject of the race, we're still on the lookout for volunteers to help marshall and judge, so if you're able to lend a hand please get in touch by posting a reply or by e-mailing pete@whiteknightrc.com. We've also received a pic of Rob with a few riders out on the road in Sweden. We don't have any details of who, where, what and why so maybe if you're reading this Rob you can give us the background to the pic by posting a reply. In fact if any of the riders in the photo are reading this please post a reply and let us know what's happening on the Swedish road scene. Sunday, July 2

It wasn't exactly my best day's racing but despite my poor finish I thoroughly enjoyed the event. I did try on a few occasions to get away but I didn't have the luck or the legs to make anything stick. With the race being up graded to a second cat event the racing was more open and less negative than the average 3rd cat event. All in all it was a good workout and the scorching weather worked wonders for the tan.

Sadly as a result of today's exertions I'm not out on the Donny chain gang this evening but I don't suppose I'll be too sorely missed. Particularly as I appear to have upset some with my comments in our news section. www.whiteknightrc.com/news.html On reflection the comments made were ill advised, regrettable and have been removed. As someone who only uses the chain gang as and when it suits it was wrong of me to make such sweeping generalisations and I apologise for any offence caused. Wednesday, June 28

Welcome to the White Knight RC Blog Over the last 12 months several people have commented about the high level of drivel we post on our main site www.whiteknightrc.com . Obviously this came as a huge shock to us as we rarely meet anyone who admits to reading it! However in light of these cutting remarks we've decided to offer the right of reply by way of this blog. Although in typical egocentric fashion we've named it White to reply. So now you too can have your say, just try and keep it clean, fair and balanced. Have fun. Troy |
